Road Maintenance

What it is

Road maintenance controls or removes vegetation growing on the road surface.

Eligibility

The road must meet all the Class 1, 2 or 3 construction criteria that apply to it.

Standards and assessment

• Methods: pulling, grubbing, mowing and/or cutting unwanted vegetation on the road surface.
• Timing: carry out the work before a silviculture treatment starts.
• Cut height: cut all vegetation off at ground level.
• Result: after treatment, the road meets all the construction criteria for its class.
